Stephen E. King Chair Lecture: “Made for TV: Writing to Keep Hollywood Relevant”
Presented by Adam Barr, a Los Angeles-based television writer and producer. Born in Lewiston, Maine, he has written for nearly 30 years for a number of shows including “The New Adventures of Old Christine,” “Desperate Housewives” and “Suburgatory.” He was a writer and producer for the first run of “Will & Grace,” earning an Emmy Award in 2000, and currently serves as executive producer of the series revival while working on various other television pilots and screenplays. The 2019 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Breakfast Celebration, co-sponsored by the Greater Bangor Area NAACP and the University of Maine Division of Student Life, will be held on March 2 at Wells Conference Center on campus. Faculty Mentor Appreciation Luncheon
Faculty Mentors will be recognized during this award ceremony and luncheon. Students submit faculty mentors for appreciation by sharing an Instagram post that explains the positive impact a UMaine faculty mentor has had on them with the hashtag #UMaineAboveandBeyond.
