The Publish and Thrive Challenge — Enhanced and Updated with UMaine’s Writing Center (Online)
An event every week that begins at 12:00 am on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, repeating until March 24, 2023
Join Fogler Library and the Writing Center the week of March 20-24 for the Publish and Thrive Challenge. Each day, for five days, you will receive an email with brief tasks designed to build your publishing acumen (and confidence).
You’ll identify venues to publish and present your work, explore the process of responding to calls for proposals in both academic and popular presses, examine your rights as an author, and increase the overall visibility of your work. You’ll also have an opportunity to share your own insights and experiences with other participants, and hear from UMaine faculty, graduate students, and local authors, all of whom are publishing and presenting across a wide range of disciplines and genres.
Additionally, you’ll be invited to a practice presentation in The Writing Center to prepare presenting your work. This event will take place on April 5th, nearly two weeks before UMaine’s Student Symposium, and attendees are encouraged to use this Publish and Thrive Challenge to prepare their scholarly work for this symposium.
RSVP to join us. This is an online, asynchronous program, and everyone is welcome to participate – this Challenge may be especially resonant for graduate students and early career scholars.
