The University of Maine Cooperative Extension is offering a seed starting workshop from 5–7 p.m. on Monday, March 31 at the Cumberland County Extension Office, 75 Clearwater Drive, Falmouth.
This interactive workshop will provide participants with the skills and knowledge to grow their own seedlings at home. Participants will learn about the equipment necessary for seed starting, the process of creating optimal growing conditions and the steps of seedling growth. All participants will have the opportunity to practice starting their own seeds in class and will take home a tray of starts for their garden.
The program is being offered in collaboration with Cultivating Community and will be led by experienced instructors from UMaine Extension. Space is limited to 20 participants. Registration is required at the event webpage. The program fee is being offered on a sliding scale, $10–$20, with all proceeds supporting the educational mission of UMaine Gardens at Tidewater Farm.
