University of Maine Cooperative Extension will offer a 2-part, hands-on food preservation workshop on July 18 and 25 from 1–4 p.m. at the Houlton Civic Center, 94 Randall Avenue, Houlton. Part 1 will cover the basics of canning and water bath canning. Part 2 focuses on pressure canning, freezing, and dehydrating garden produce. Extension professional Lisa Fishman will lead the workshop; fresh produce and canning jars will be provided.
