Farm-to-Table Summer Camp

July 28 @ 8:00 am - 4:30 pm

| $200

University of Maine Cooperative Extension is offering a Farm-to-Table Summer Camp for youth entering grades 4-6, from July 28 to August 1, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Rogers Farm Demonstration Garden, 914 Bennoch Road, Old Town. The camp will also include some off-site travel.

During the camp, participants will have the opportunity to experience all aspects of growing, harvesting, and preparing food and flowers. They will sow seeds for the fall harvest, gather cut flowers and vegetables, and work alongside trained chefs to prepare culinary delights. Additionally, the camp will feature a collaborative art installation project, food-related educational sessions with guest speakers, and a community service project to give back.

The $200 camp fee includes all materials, one special meal, and tastings from the culinary activities. Families are asked to provide morning and afternoon snacks, as well as lunch for four of the days. Financial assistance is available upon request. To register, visit the program webpage here. The camp has a maximum capacity of 14 participants. For those who wish to be added to a waitlist, please contact Kate Garland at 207.942.7396 or email katherine.garland@maine.edu.
