Public lecture by Dr. Diane Tye, professor of folklore at Memorial University and author of "Baking as Biography: A Life Story in Recipes" (winner of the Elli Köngäs-Maranda Book Prize by the Women’s Section of the American Folklore Society). Taste of Asia

Exploring Wabanaki Maine History

"Exploring Wabanaki Maine History" is an interactive storytelling experience. We will learn about events in the history of the relationship between Wabanaki people (the Indigenous people of Maine) and Europeans and their descendants. The goal of this participatory program is to increase our understanding of colonization. The program is presented by Maine-Wabanaki REACH, a cross-cultural collaborative of people working in Wabanaki and Maine communities to support truth, healing and decolonization.   Space is limited; email Cara Doiron (cara.doiron@maine.edu) to RSVP.
