Friend, Enemy, or Frenemy? A News Literacy Challenge (online)

October 26 - October 30

Join UMaine's Fogler Library and the Department of Communication and Journalism for "Friend, Enemy, or Frenemy? A News Literacy Challenge." Each day, for five days between Oct. 26–30, participants will receive brief tasks designed to build their news literacy, while having fun and learning something new. Activities include discerning fact from fiction in popular news stories, deconstructing the purpose and content of the news,  and examining the role of confirmation bias in how we interact with news media. Wabanaki Flag Raising

The Office of Multicultural Student Life, The Wabanaki Center, and American Indian Student Organization will celebrate the University of Maine’s 4th Annual Native American Heritage Month Flag Raising Ceremony, which will kick of Native American Heritage Month.   The ceremony will commence at noon on Monday, Nov. 2 in front of Fogler Library on the University Mall.
