On Monday, Nov. 7, from noon to 1 p.m. in the Bangor Room of the Memorial Union, UMaine professor and Peruvian writer Carlos Villacorta will give a talk titled” “Trece padres: Translation Spanish fiction into English.” Villacorta will discuss his fiction in Spanish, the effort to deconstruct the image of the father, and the task of working with translator Gillian Esquivia-Cohen to assess the gender dynamics from his short story “Trece padres” in Spanish into its final version “Thirteen Fathers” in English.
