Speaker: Jessica Scott, Senior Climate Advisor, Governor’s Office of Policy Innovation and the Future
The Governor’s Office of Policy Innovation and the Future (GOPIF) has been working with a variety of state agencies, the Maine Climate Council, and members of the public to explore opportunities to advance climate and environmental justice for all Maine people. In her role as senior climate advisor in GOPIF, Jessica Scott has been supporting this work. Jess will share some recent achievements, highlight ongoing work, and discuss opportunities for collaboration with universities and other organizations across Maine to bring the benefits of climate action to all Maine people.
Jessica Scott is a Senior Climate Advisor at the Governor’s Office of Policy Innovation and the Future. Prior to joining the office, Scott was the Assistant Secretary for the Environment for the State of New York, where she developed policy and programs to advance former Governor Andrew Cuomo’s climate goals, with a focus on clean transportation, natural and working lands, and on the inclusion of equity and justice across all policies. Scott has more than a decade of climate and environmental policy expertise, working with academic institutions, non-profit organizations, and local, state, and federal governments. Scott has a Master’s degree in Environmental Management from the Yale School of the Environment.
