Talk – Sustainability Awards and Presentations

This event will be held virtually via Zoom and in-person at 107 Norman Smith Hall, UMaine, on Monday, Jan. 31.

For our first sustainability ‘talk’ of spring 2022 semester, we will recognize the winners of the Mitchell Center’s 2021 Sustainability Awards. As part of the ceremony, each of the four awardees will give a brief presentation that reflects on the work for which they received their award.

Outstanding mentorship of a student in sustainability research
Sharon Klein, Associate Professor, UMaine School of Economics

Outstanding student contribution to sustainability research
Dominique DiSpirito, UMaine Honors student and political science major

Outstanding contributions toward the development of a solution by a research team
Maine Food Waste Fall 2021 Student Intern Team

Outstanding contribution by an external partner to sustainability research
