Research Learning Experience (RLE) Virtual Workshop
January 13, 2023: 8:30 am – 12 pm
RSVP HERE
Open to all who are interested, including all current RLE instructors, administrators, those involved in assessment, and instructors who are considering designing an RLE.
The goal of the Research Learning Experiences (RLE) is to engage students in discovery, knowledge creation, and authentic professional practices—regardless of their area of study—starting in their first year at our universities. The format of RLEs combines a suite of best practices for first-year retention to give students a mindset that will both help them to get the most out of their degree and put them on a path to long-term success.
Following last year’s workshop and RLE rollout, a range of topics will be covered including:
- reflecting on this year’s RLE successes and challenges
- exploring the variety of course and bridge week designs tried across campuses and disciplines
- improving the RLE assessment process
- discussing the future of RLEs across UMS
