Sponsored by the University of Maine, University of New England, Mount Desert Island Biological Laboratory, Jackson Laboratory, Roux Institute, Northern Light Health, and MaineHealth, the schedule for the three-day event includes student and faculty poster sessions, keynote speeches, panel discussions, and receptions offering networking opportunities throughout Maine’s colleges, universities, research labs, and healthcare facilities.
Tickets to this three-day event are $300. Students may register at no cost. Registration is now open, and will close on Sept. 1.
The Symposium is soliciting abstract submissions for poster sessions. The submission deadline has been extended to Sept. 1.
- Students are encouraged to submit posters to be presented on Thursday, Oct. 13. Students will have the opportunity to win one of six $500 awards.
- Faculty are encouraged to submit posters for sessions to be held on Friday, Oct. 14 and Saturday, Oct. 15.
Accommodations
A block of rooms have been reserved for Symposium participants at the Portland Holiday Inn by the Bay. After accessing the hotel website, click the green “Book Now” button and enter the symposium dates to view special booking prices. These special rates are indicated with the words “Biomedical research,” located above the price.
