Renae Moran will be teaching the basics of commercial tree fruit production including spraying, pruning, fertilizing, harvesting, and cold storage. In this class, fundamental cultural practices involved in managing a commercial orchard will be discussed.

Schedule
1 p.m.: Tree Care — Pollination, fruit thinning methods, fertility, harvest and storage, and wildlife problems
1:45 p.m.: Insects and Diseases — Common insect pests and diseases, spray materials, and airblast sprayers*
2:45 p.m.: BREAK
3 p.m.: Pruning Practices — the fundamentals and practices of pruning fruit trees
3:30 p.m.: Pruning Demonstration in the Orchard (weather permitting)
*One pesticide applicator credit will be offered for attending this 1-hour portion of the meeting
