Lieberman served as literary editor and a revising translator of the JPS TANAKH: Gender-Sensitive Edition. She is the founder of Textish, an organization whose focus is producing innovative literary works of Jewish scholarship, culture, and practice, and is a member of the Central Conference of American Rabbis (CCAR) and the Board of Rabbis of Southern California.
