University of Maine Cooperative Extension and the Greater Franklin Food Council will offer a “Digital Marketing for Farms” workshop on Thursday, April 3, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. at North Dining Hall in the Olsen Student Center, University of Maine Farmington, 111 South Street.
Participants will hear from Kelsey Kobik, a Maine farm photographer with a background in vegetable farming and online marketing. Kobik will teach participants how to take cell phone photos for marketing purposes. Also presenting will be Katie Kelly, a freelance marketer and photographer who works with small businesses to expand their digital presence. Kelly will show participants how to cultivate a strong digital presence for their farm. This workshop will be a mix of lecture, discussion and hands-on activities that will be informative and engaging. Lunch, sponsored by the Maine Farmland Trust, is included. Participants can choose to attend an additional meeting after lunch, hosted by Maine Farmland Trust and the Greater Franklin Food Council, focused on creating farm-friendly municipal policies.
