Maine’s First Soft-Shell Clam Recruitment Monitoring Network: Highlighting a Statewide Fishery Crisis Through Citizen Science (online)

The next UMS Research and Innovation Speaker Series webinar titled Maine’s First Soft-Shell Clam Recruitment Monitoring Network: Highlighting a Statewide Fishery Crisis Through Citizen Science will take place on Monday, Feb. 6, at Noon via Zoom.

The presenter, Dr. Brian Beal, is professor of Marine Ecology at the University of Maine at Machias.

Beal studies the ecology and natural history of many commercial marine shellfish species in eastern Maine. His research combines ecology and mariculture; providing critical information about how to grow these species and how organisms interact. He works with others to provide new economic and educational opportunities to the people of Downeast and coastal Maine.
