At 3 p.m. on Wednesday, March 30 in the Hill Auditorium of Barrows Hall, Jack Buttcane will be speaking in the colloquium for the Department of Mathematics and Statistics. His talk will be on “A meandering through number theory”: The topic of number theory pulls in methods from all areas of modern mathematics. His talk will try to motivate the use of techniques from algebra and analysis by considering the problem of the largest prime divisor of a polynomial.
