2021 SEA Fellows Summer Science Symposium (online)

August 10, 2021 @ 1:00 pm - 2:15 pm

Twenty-five undergraduate and recent post-baccalaureate students from the University of Maine, University of Southern Maine and 10 other institutions will share the results of their summer marine research in the virtual 2021 University of Maine SEA Fellows Symposium on Aug. 10.

In the SEA (Science for Economic Impact and Application) Fellows program, coordinated by UMaine’s Darling Marine Center and Downeast Institute, which serves as the UMaine Machias marine field station, student researchers from throughout Maine collaborate with world-class marine scientists. This year, the students’ research topics included deep-sea coral biology, the microorganisms that fuel coastal ecosystem productivity, the ecology of lobsters, clams and oysters, and interdisciplinary fisheries and aquaculture-related research.

The symposium poster session, which is open to the public, begins at 1 p.m. Register and join the zoom via this link.
