University of Maine Cooperative Extension and the Stetson Public Library are co-hosting a workshop for home gardeners on managing insects and diseases from 6-7:30 p.m. on March 3 at the Stetson Public Library, 70 Village Road (snow date March 4).
Gardening joy can come hand-in-hand with gardening woes like Japanese beetles, slugs, squash bugs, powdery mildew, blight and grubs. Participants in this workshop will learn how to develop a non-chemical strategy for managing some of Maine’s common garden pests. The instructor for the workshop is UMaine Extension Horticulturist Kate Garland.
Pre-registration is preferred on the event webpage. Registered participants will receive a follow-up email with relevant resources.
To request a reasonable accommodation, please contact Kathi Ward at volunteer@stetson.lib.me.us or 207.296.2020. Receiving requests for accommodations at least 7 days before the program allows a reasonable amount of time to meet the request, however, all requests will be considered.
