At this in-person program, prospective and beginning small-scale meat and egg producers will learn about what it takes to have poultry, including laying hens.
This program will be lead by Donna Coffin, UMaine Extension and Dr. Colt Knight, UMaine Extension Livestock Specialist.
Topics will include:
- poultry breeds
- housing
- health
- nutrition
Also, there will be a demonstration of various waterers and lighting options along with ideas for your do-it-yourself poultry equipment.
