Using iClickers to Promote Student Engagement and Learning

August 24, 2022 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm

In-person event

iClickers (or other response systems) can be an extremely effective tools to engage your students in content and their own learning while simultaneously informing you about student thinking. To be maximally effective, key factors need to be considered. In this workshop, we will present research and approaches on how to maximize the information gained using classroom response devices. Participants will have an opportunity to practice writing your own questions and brainstorming how you might use these tools in your teaching. After, participants will have time to reflect on their clicker practice this semester, identify areas of improvement or change, and receive feedback from both peers and facilitators. If possible, please bring: 1) questions that you have used in the past and would like to improve, and/or 2) a conceptual difficulty from your class or persistent sticking point for learners.
