Tick and Mosquito Walk
August 31 @ 9:30 am - 10:00 am
This walk will cover mosquitoes and ticks that transmit infectious diseases to humans, companion animals and wildlife in Maine, as well as some beneficial mosquito species. We also will discuss ongoing vector-borne disease research being conducted in Maine and look for mosquitoes in the bog.
Led by Allie Gardner, assistant professor of arthropod vector biology in the School of Biology and Ecology at the University of Maine.
The walk will begin at the start of the boardwalk, and participants are asked to meet at the cabin. To register, email firstname.lastname@example.org with “Boardwalk Walk” in the subject line, and provide a telephone number in case of a weather cancellation.
