Event Navigation
Join the UMaine Cooperative Extension and learn how to preserve fresh fruits and
vegetables. There will be five three-hour classes to choose from. The fee for
each class is $20.00. Fresh produce and canning jars will be provided. Everyone will go
home with a jar of what they make and a food preservation packet. To register, call Linda
at 794.6712.
All classes are held at Mattanawcook Academy from 5–8 p.m. as follows:
Preserving the Harvest — Sept. 26
Intro to Fermenting (Sauerkraut) — Oct. 9
Pickles — Oct. 10
Drying Fruits, Vegetables and Herbs — Nov. 1
Preserving Cranberries — Nov. 14
Preserving the Harvest Jams — Dec. 5
