January 15 @ 4:30 pm - 6:00 pm| Free
Thinking of becoming a food entrepreneur by selling products made with your well-loved recipes? Join Dr. Beth Calder of the University of Maine Cooperative Extension as she talks about “Growing Food Businesses in Maine — How Cooperative Extension Can Help.”
This talk is part of the Kennebec County Extension Association’s annual meeting, which will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 15, from 4:30–6 p.m., in the Washington/York room of the Augusta Civic Center (part of the Ag Trades Show). Dr. Calder will discuss UMaine’s food testing services, the pilot plant/commercial kitchen, workshops to help food entrepreneurs, and research for the industry. This presentation will be particularly appropriate for people interested in selling home- or farm-made food products. After Dr. Calder’s presentation, there will be a brief business meeting of the Kennebec County Extension Association. Light refreshments will be served. The program is free, but interested parties are requested to RSVP by Monday, Jan. 13, if possible.
