University of Maine Cooperative Extension will hold a garlic growing workshop from 2 – 3 p.m. on Wednesday, October 15 at UMaine Extension Gardens at Tidewater Farm, 200 Presumpscot Point Road in Falmouth.
Grow Your Own Garlic is a hands-on opportunity to learn how to grow garlic from planting to harvest. In this interactive session, instructors will discuss how to select garlic varieties, plant garlic seed, provide seasonal care, and properly harvest, cure, and store your crop. Each participant will have the opportunity to plant garlic at Tidewater Farm and take home a garlic head to plant in their own garden.
