From Galileo to JWST: Uncovering the Universe

July 14, 2023 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

In ancient times, Greek astronomers understood that planets are not like the stars, because they move in a different way in our skies. Why do they move the way they do? What are they made of? And what about the Moon? Is it really a perfect object with a smooth surface? To answer these questions, we have the need to give a closer look to the sky using something that can make our sight sharper and deeper. It’s from this need that our story begins.

This is a special presentation from Ms. Elena Lazzaretto. Lazzaretto began her career as Scientific Communicator with the Italian National Institute for Astrophysics ( and began working at the Planetarium of Padova in 2011 where she is the planetarium astronomer and an educator with extensive knowledge about full-dome live show scripting, computer graphics, sound design and event organization. She is also a Freelance Scientific Communicator and teaches Math and Physics at High Schools in Padova, Italy.
