A talk by Dr. James Burrell, former deputy assistant director of the FBI’s Cyber Division.
Cybersecurity represents an increasingly complex challenge for the effective implementation of security and privacy controls. These challenges require strategic considerations for the adoption and integration of innovative technologies to protect critical systems and sensitive information. This interactive presentation session will provide an overview of the current state of cybersecurity, risk management, cyber governance, and technology policy, with an emphasis on the impact of emerging technologies on security and privacy.
Burrell retired in 2016 from the FBI. He founded a cyber technology research firm and maintains advisory affiliations with governmental, nongovernmental, and other organizations, including the National Academy of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine.
