Canceled: Browntail Moth Pesticide Applicator Training (Augusta)

A browntail moth program will be held April 2nd, 2020 at the Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry Deering Building (90 Blossom Lane) in Augusta, for 4 recertification credits. Doors open at 7:15 am and talks run from 8:00 am to 12:15 pm.
Seating is limited, registration is recommended by March 27. The nonrefundable registration fee on or before Mar. 27th is $10. The registration fee after March 27 is $15. Only cash or check can be accepted at the door. Light refreshments will be served.
7:15–8 a.m.: Check-in/Registration/Meet and Greet
8–8:30 a.m.: BTM Identification and Look-alikes, Clay Kirby, insect diagnostician, UMaine Extension
8:30–9:30 a.m.: BTM Life-cycle and Ecology, Angela Mech, assistant professor of Forest Entomology, UMaine School of Biology and Ecology
9:30–9:45 a.m.: Break/Refreshments
9:45–10:45 a.m.: BTM in Maine: History, Spread, Defoliation Surveys, and Non-Chemical Management, Tom Schmeelk, entomologist, Maine Forest Service
10:45–11:45 a.m.: Product Rule Updates for BTM Control, Pam Bryer, toxicologist, Board of Pesticides Control
11:45 a.m.–12:15 p.m.: BTM Applications and Pollinator Protection, Gary Fish, state horticulturist, Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry
12:15 p.m.: Credit Forms/Adjourn
