Anon(ymous)

October 24, 2021 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm

The UMaine School of Performing Arts Division of Theatre and Dance presents Anon(ymous) by Naomi Iizuka. Directed by assistant professor of theatre and English Rosalie Purvis, Anon(ymous) is a contemporary re-imagining of Homer’s Odyssey presented as an international, multimedia production.

Separated from his mother, a young refugee called Anon journeys through the United States in search of his family, encountering a wide variety of people — some kind, some dangerous, and some cruel. At a time when our country is wrestling with the issue of immigration reform, Anon(ymous) offers a provocative and insightful look at the topic in this compelling theatrical work by one of America’s finest contemporary playwrights.

Performances Oct. 15, 16, 21, 22, 23 at 7:30 pm; Oct. 17 and 24 at 2:00 pm.

Tickets are $12 or free to students with a MaineCard.
