2013 Rezendes Ethics Lecture: Arthur D. Serota

UMaine alumnus Arthur D. Serota (1966), winner of the university’s 2008 Bernard Lown ’42 Humanitarian Award and co-founder of the United Movement to End Child Soldering (UMECS), will present the 2013 University of Maine John M. Rezendes Visiting Scholar in Ethics Lecture, 3:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 2 in Hauck Auditorium, a free public event. His talk, titled “To Look the Other Way or Not: Ethical Choices We Make,” will discuss the work of the UMECS, of which he is executive director and chief executive officer, to end child soldiering by supporting secondary and higher education for those affected by conflict in the Great Lakes and southern Africa regions.
